Meals in Europe

Cuisine can actually be quite an interesting topic. Research indicates that families who eat dinner together experience several benefits (as demonstrated here).  There are even researchers who look at the social phenom of eating and socializing together. Even for someone coming from the Fitness industry such as myself, there are trends and opportunities which can help in ways that are novel and cool (for us geeks, that is).

So this brings us to today's topic: food!

First off, let's start with the itinerary in terms of how many meals are provided, how many you might have provided when on tours, and how many meals you are responsible for purchasing.

Breakfast: All provided for from April 27th to May 6th in hotels.
Lunch: You will purchase 7 lunches, and there may be 3 lunches provided on tours.
Dinner: You purchase 6 dinners, 3 dinners are provided, and there may be 1 provided on a tour.

Keep in mind that we will be tasting local fare on some tours so, depending on your appetite, you may not have much room for lunch or dinner.

And as you can see, all breakfasts from April 26th to May 6th are provided at the hotels. Keep in mind that these are European breakfasts, so you may not be getting the traditional North American meal

Please also note that in Europe it is expected that you do not attend breakfast dressed in your pajamas, but dressed as you would be for the activities of the day.

A common question is how much money should you bring for each meal? Our response is: how much do you eat, and what do you eat? A good general guideline is to account for five to fifteen Euros per meal. Some will spend more, some will spend less.

DISCLAIMER: These are recommendations. As adults, please use your personal discretion as to planning for meals.

Another guideline is that while in Europe, eat as a European traditionally would. Yes, you can order a special beverage at McDonalds, but why would you when you can dine on local fare!

It will be an exciting time, and by exploring you can sometimes find some great food and experiences to go along with them!
